About Ashley

I provide a safe, secure and supportive space for clients to reflect more deeply on themselves, their relationships and how they move about in the world. I will meet you where you're at and help you find relief from painful symptoms such as anxiety, depression, loneliness and trauma.

My warm, genuine and relaxed approach allows clients to make incremental shifts that build up over time and create deep and lasting change. I welcome humor, playfulness and creativity in the therapeutic relationship.

I come from a diverse clinical background working with individuals, couples and families in outpatient mental health and substance use treatment, as well as in high school and university counseling settings. I completed my Masters of Social Work at Hunter College and, in addition to my psychotherapy practice, provide clinical supervision to social workers pursuing professional growth and licensure. I primarily work psychodynamically and I am affiliated with the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies in New York City.

About Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Many of our struggles have roots that extend beyond our immediate awareness. Through supportive conversation and self-exploration, we will work to better understand how your past influences your present experiences, relationships and sense of self. As insight develops, new possibilities for growth, healing and lasting change can emerge.

Common Topics for Discussion

Relationships and intimacy

Family dynamics and childhood experiences

Anxiety and emotional distress

Depression and low mood

OCD and repetitive patterns

Self-esteem and self-criticism

Life transitions and identity development

Cultural identity, race and belonging

Career, purpose and direction

Trauma and resilience

Grief and loss

Sexuality and self-expression

Most importantly, I encourage clients to talk about what matters most to them as it occurs to them in the session.
